654 female Freedom Fighters given ceremonial honor across the country.

Birangonas or war heroines remain bright examples in the history of the Liberation War, says a state minister.

Marking Bangladesh’s Golden Jubilee of Independence, the government on Tuesday.

Honored 654 valiant female Freedom Fighters for their outstanding contribution.

To the country’s Liberation War in 1971. 

Women and Children Affairs Ministry organized a program to give honor to the war heroines.

Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka and all the Deputy Commissioner (DC) offices across the country.

They were given crests, a “tutorial” (scarf), a share, and a souvenir on the occasion.  

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque attended the program as the chief guest.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira in the chair.

Women and Children Affairs Ministry’s Secretary Dr. Md Anwar Hossain Howlader attended the program.

Its venue while all DCs joined it virtually from their respective offices.

Speaking on the occasion, AKM Mozammel said the government would build houses.

Titled “Bir Nibash” for all Biranganas.

He added that the valiant Freedom Fighters were now getting medical services.

Including medicines and test facilities, free of cost at hospitals countrywide.

Military ruler Ziaur Rahman had built Shishu Park at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan.

Where Pakistani occupational forces surrendered to the allied forces during the Liberation War.

With a view to making the people forget the actual history,” Mozammel observed.

The minister further said: “We want to conserve the specific spot in the history of Suhrawardy Udyan.

As the breeding ground of the Liberation War as the people can know the history of it after going there.

Besides, if any Freedom Fighters pass away, they will be buried in identical graves.

So that people can easily identify those with respect, he continued.

Fazilatun Nessa Indira said from the very beginning of the Liberation War.

Female Freedom Fighters remained as bright examples in the history of the war.

For their direct participation, sacrifice, and support.

Mentioning that they have had huge sacrifices in the Liberation War.

She said the mothers had sent their sons in the battle even after knowing that their sons could have died there.
