Ruling party is observing the program across the country
Leaders and activists of the Chittagong metropolitan unit Awami League organized a procession on Tuesday against the backdrop of communal attacks across the country.
Seeking harmony and peace, they paraded through the port city in the afternoon. They started from the premises of the International Convention Hall at Kazir Dewri of the port city and stopped at Chatteswari Road via Jamalkhan and Chittagong Press Club.
Acting president of the city unit Awami League Mahatab Uddin Chowdhury and General Secretary AJM Nasir Uddin led the procession. Members of the executive committee of the unit were also present.
Besides, leaders and activists of 129 units, 43 wards and 15 police stations were present at the extended meeting of Chittagong metropolitan unit Awami League.
The procession was organized under the directives of the party chief announced on Monday. As pert he decision, processions seeking peace will continue for 10 days across the country from October 21.
