Remaining on track. Completing another large-scale project as such can bolster our economy, and provide the kind of stability we are in need of.
Of all of Bangladesh’s ambitious projects in recent times, Padma Bridge is surely one that deserves the highest praise.
Despite the many obstacles, the authorities managed to successfully build the structure that has started visibly and positively impacting the economy since its inauguration.
That the authorities are wasting no time to complete the next big project.
The Padma Bridge Rail Link, is certainly an indication that we are prioritizing the right projects to further our development as a nation.
On Saturday, work began on the installation of the railway track on Padma Bridge’s Zajira point, and is expected to be completed in the next four months.
The project has been divided into three parts, and about 30% of the physical work remains to be completed.
This is commendable progress, and if things move forward according to plan, we can hope to see another undertaking of this magnitude come to fruition next year.
However, in order for that to happen, the authorities must remain vigilant to see this through.
The plans need to be followed and the deadlines must be met in order for the project to be as rewarding as it is expected to be.
Furthermore, it is important that this, or any other future project, does not cause the country and its people any damage.
Hasty and careless work may lead to catastrophes that we must not allow for.
Padma Bridge has proven to be an enormous asset to us and our economy, enabling better and faster communication within the country and opening avenues for development.
The Rail Link project holds similar promise, and can assist considerably in the advancement of the economy.
As the global economic landscape remains unstable, the future of our economy is also uncertain and may be subject to a number of risks.
To that end, completing another large-scale project as such can bolster our economy, and provide the kind of stability we are in need of.
