Vivo Y21T

The smartphone costs Tk17,990 and stands firmly between the mid-range segment.

Vivo launched its Y21T smartphone in Bangladesh on February 22.

The smartphone costs Tk17,990 and stands firmly between the mid-range segment.

The smartphone configuration seemed a bit weird to me, considering the Indonesian version.

The phone comes with 6GB RAM and a 60Hz display while the Indian variant comes with a 90Hz display.

Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, the phone has 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 60Hz display.

Maybe Vivo has the answers behind releasing phones with different refresh rates in different countries.

In today’s review, we will be focusing on where this phone stands and if the Bangladeshi variant.

One thing which is common in all three variants is the processor.

Vivo Y21T has a Snapdragon 680 chipset inside.

While comparing it to Xiaomi’s Poco M3, released in November 2020 and holding a price tag of Tk17,499.

Poco M3 has a Snapdragon 662 chipset and the Snapdragon 680 is better than that chipset.

It even performs better than the Redmi 10 Prime on paper.

Redmi 10 Prime, which comes with a price tag of Tk19,499 has a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset.

The Snapdragon 680 performs better than that as well.

The Vivo V21T has a 50MP primary back camera, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor with an 8MP.

However, it misses out on an ultrawide camera, which is something I will definitely look for.

If I want to buy a smartphone for Tk18,000.

Meanwhile, Redmi 10 Prime provides an 8MP ultrawide camera while Poco M3 doesn’t have an ultrawide.

Vivo Y21T has a decent 6.51 inch IPS LCD display. The phone has a glass front, plastic frame.

And plastic back, which is quite expected within this price segment.

However, it lacks display protection, which both Poco M3 and Redmi 10 Prime have.

Both of the smartphones have Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

A lack of display protection means the phone has to be used with a hard display protector all the time.

In case it’s dropped accidentally or the display gets hit.

The phone is only 8 mm thick and should provide a pretty comfortable grip, though.

Compared to the Poco M3 and Redmi 10 Prime, it also weighs less at only 182 grams.

However, the display resolution is another drawback. It has a 720×1600 pixels display.

Which should have been at least 1080p.

Both Poco M3 and Redmi 10 Prime have 1080p displays.

There was no available information on the peak brightness of the phone.
